Women's Criminality and Criminality against Women
Zárubová, Petra ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
Women's Criminality and Criminality against Women Abstract The topic of the present rigorous thesis is women's criminality and crime against women, i.e. two different views of women, first as perpetrators of crime and then as victims. Although women represent more than half of the population, the topic of women's criminality is not given as much attention as that of men or other population groups (e.g. juvenile delinquency). Thus, women are perceived as victims of crime rather than as perpetrators of crime. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the topic of women as victims of crime, as this is still a very topical issue at present. The aim of the thesis is to give a picture of both types of crime, to give their specifics, to describe their causes and to focus on possible repressive and especially preventive measures that can be used to suppress or prevent this type of crime. At the same time, the work aims to compare the information found with foreign legislation (Germany), to point out the shortcomings of the current legislation and any current problems, and to outline possible changes or proposals for de lege ferenda regulation of the issue. In the introductory chapter, the thesis first defines the basic criminological concepts used in the following chapters, such as the concept of crime itself,...

Marková, Leona ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (referee)
1 Crime Prevention - Abstract - keywords Abstract The thesis analyses in theoretical terms the topic of crime prevention as one of the two strategies of crime control, as opposed to the other strategy, which is criminal repression. It highlights the priority position of prevention in relation to other methods that can be used to tackle crime in society. It focuses on the theoretical definition of the basic concepts and their meaning with regard to crime prevention, then presents the systematic classifications most commonly present in academic literature, followed by a more detailed look at the breakdown by level and by the content of crime prevention. The system of crime prevention in the Czech Republic is also briefly presented, the effectiveness of which has an impact on the success of the state's crime prevention policy. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on understanding the causes and conditions of juvenile delinquency. In the current dynamic world, young people have a high potential to apply changes in society and influence crime rates. In addition, easy access to modern technology can affect a person's life in many aspects, therefore the topic of cybercrime is also discussed. Moreover, the topic of personal development is studied, particularly in the areas of sports, martial arts, and self-defence....
Personality of female offender
Navrátilová, Kateřina ; Marešová, Alena (advisor) ; Zoubková, Ivana (referee)
Personality of female offender Abstract The aim of this thesis is to provide a certain picture of the female offenders. A significant part of the thesis deals with criminological theories that have tried to find the cause of female criminality. These are primarily biological, psychological and sociological criminological theories, but multidisciplinary and feminist approaches are also considered. Although a number of experts have attempted to explain the origins of female delinquency, none has yet succeeded in answering the question of where female criminality originates. On the contrary, they agree that there is no single universal cause of female criminality. This thesis provides an overview of some of the typologies of female offenders, including female sex offenders, serial killers, and child murderers. By examining the typologies of female offenders that have been developed, we are able to obtain a fairly detailed picture of the characteristics of female offenders, including personality traits and criminal motivations. In order to obtain a comprehensive picture of women as perpetrators of crime, it is also necessary to look at specific manifestations of female criminality. For example, the number of convictions is a useful indicator that can give us an idea of the shape of female criminality. A...

Object of this work should evaluate the current implementation of crime prevention in connection with regional differences. The work focus on the description of the potential relationship between crime in primary school students, prevention of risky behavior thematically focused on crime prevention and the region in which children grow up. Specifically, it should be the relationship between crime in Ústí nad Labem and České Budějovice. The results of the survey could be used as a basis for increasing the effectiveness of preventing and discouraging crime at an early age in accordance with the individual conditions of individual regions. The survey should be based mainly on analyzes of the content of prevention programs of selected primary schools in the above-mentioned regions, as well as on data from available crime statistics kept by the police of Czech republic, Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children and misdemeanor commissions of individual districts. Furthermore, the work was based on the experience of staff (crime prevention methodologists) who deal with the issue of school crime prevention in practice.
The role of social and psychological counselling in case of help for victims of criminal acts.
POLATOVÁ, Lenka
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of helping victims of crime with an emphasis on the psychological side and the goal is to analyse the options of that help. The first chapter deals with victimology and victimization, basic concepts that are important for understanding the issue. The next chapter emphasizes the concept of victim. It explains the typology of victims and also discusses victims' rights. The fourth chapter focuses on the issue of particularly vulnerable victims. What is also important is the section on entities that provide help to victims of crimes. I focus in more detail on the two most important entities, which are the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic and the non-profit organization White Circle of Safety which represents the non-state sector. The most important part of the thesis comes in the last but one chapter, and it focuses on specific assistance for victims of crimes. The chapter deals with the principles of laic, especially psychological and social assistance. Finally, I focus on crime prevention. The whole issue is complemented by interviews with experts who provide help to victims. The acquired knowledge shows how important the work of providers of care for crime victims is, and indicates how significant benefit it has for the users.
Crime prevention through environmental design strategy and its use in selected Prague's localities
Fiala, Ondřej ; Šiftová, Jana (advisor) ; Šilhánková, Vladimíra (referee)
In this thesis I focus on the preventive strategy called Crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). The aim of this strategy is to act preventively against crime and to reduce fear of crime by means of modification of the physical setting in public spaces. CPTED is theoretically based mainly on findings of crime geography, environmental criminology and architecture. After presenting this concept at the theoretical level I focus on six concrete locations in Prague. On the basis of my field research I investigate if the principles of CPTED are applied in these locations. I also refer to differences between locations, where the preventive principles were applied and locations without use of the CPTED standards. Through the use of questionnaires I try to verify if people really feel safer in places where the principles of CPTED were used. Then I observe the types of activites and the structure of people in those six examined locations. Semistructured interviews with the employees of the Prague municipal police were realised to complete the characteristics of these places. In the last part of the thesis I consider the possibilities of design adjustments in the unsuitable locations according to the CPTED principles.
